A Collaboration with PUMA Golf, Duvin Design & PGA-Pro Rickie Fowler
Duvin Design Co., the internet’s go-to beach brand, and PUMA Golf, a leader in golf innovation, design and style, are pleased to unveil an exciting collaboration with PGA Tour pro Rickie Fowler on a unique capsule collection titled “PUMA Goes on Vacation.” Available starting April 21st exclusively on both PUMAGolf.com and DuvinDesign.com, the capsule blends California casual with Florida fun in an eye-catching, four-piece collection that continues to push the golf aesthetic forward. The collection infuses Duvin’s signature bold prints and vibrant, surf-inspired design ethos into PUMA’s exceptional craftsmanship and technical expertise in athletic wear, resulting in an exciting, boundary-pushing collection sure to make anyone stand out on the green or at the beach.
Fowler, one of PUMA’s most celebrated athletes, grew up playing golf with Duvin co-founder Shaun O’Meara, who is no stranger to competing against PGA professionals. His father, Mark O’Meara, is a 2x Major winner and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. Through a personal relationship developed on and off the course, Fowler and the Duvin crew developed a friendship, which led to the organic ideation of this unique collaboration. Working with PUMA for over a decade, it was only natural for Fowler to merge these worlds together to create something unique in the golf apparel space – a capsule featuring Duvin’s bold, retro-inspired prints atop garments made using PUMA’s highest performing materials and craftsmanship. By blending the two, PUMA and Duvin were able to create a product designed to perform on and off the course, while making a bold statement in any setting.
The unisex capsule consists of a polo, shorts and bucket hat, rendered in a four-way stretch, super lightweight woven fabric. The stretch and structure of the material is ideal for the course, with breathability and comfort at its core. Each piece in the capsule incorporates bold colors and motifs inspired by Florida, which the Duvin guys call home and serves as a core inspiration for all Duvin designs. Pink florals with purple and light blue palms appear atop a natural white background on the garments, creating the perfect contrast against the bright green grass of a course or the sandy beach of a summer escape.
The polo leads with an athletic fit, ideal for hitting a banger down the fairway. The shorts feature an elastic waistband, appropriate for leisurely golf and a post-round pool session. Both the shirt and shorts are available in sizes XXS-3XL to accommodate women and golfers of all sizes, while the bucket hat showcases PUMA’s “P” logo atop the signature print.
“We’re really excited that Rickie helped bring these two coastal brands together,” says Chris MacNeill, Team Head for Apparel and Accessories at PUMA Golf. “Duvin is known for their bold, retro print style, and PUMA Golf has a long history of our own boldness and taking fashion risks in the golf space. It was a fun project to design, combining our authenticity in golf with their flair and the Florida beach lifestyle.”
While most popular surf-inspired brands have historically been based in California, the Duvin team realized the limited representation of the Florida surf scene – a region ripe with interesting history and a unique design philosophy. As native Floridians, this became the brand’s talisman and distinctive point of view, which continues to drive all aspects of the brand voice today. Featuring breezy materials made for easy living, the brand continues to expand their signature design philosophy, while continuing to have fun through every step of the process.
“This collab was a chance for us to work with one of our good friends and a legendary brand like PUMA. My golf swing might not have much in common with Rickie’s, but we both share a fashion-forward sense of style. Compliments guaranteed!” says Austin Duvall, Creative Director of Duvin Design.
The Duvin x PUMA Golf collection ranges in price from $35 – $80 and is available for purchase starting April 21, 2022.
